Q & A

Solve the problem

The problems of not being able to suck water or slow water outlet of chemical self-priming pumps, and how to solve them.

In this article, EDITOR from JiaShan ChuanTian Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of San Chuan Hong and MIKAWA brand chemical self-priming pumps, will discuss with you the problems of not being able to suck water or slow water outlet of chemical self-priming pumps, and how to solve them.

  1. There are many reasons why the chemical self-priming pump cannot suck water or has a slow water outlet, such as the blockage caused by impurities in the pipeline. Impurities can cause blockage in the inlet and outlet, making it impossible for the chemical self-priming pump to suck in more liquid, resulting in the failure to suck water or slow water outlet.

  2. It may also be caused by air being sucked into the inlet, causing air in the pump chamber, which greatly affects the self-priming efficiency of the self-priming pump and may cause slow water inlet or failure to suck water.

  3. If the impeller of the chemical self-priming pump is dirty or entangled with impurities, it will also cause failure to suck water or slow water outlet. Therefore, in this case, the pump needs to be disassembled for inspection, and the impeller impurities or entanglement need to be maintained and cleaned.

  4. The motor power is not enough, which is generally not calculated properly during selection, resulting in insufficient suction power or too small flow rate, causing the pump to run but no water outlet or slow water outlet.

  5. The one-way valve of the pump is damaged, and the failure of the one-way valve will cause the self-priming pump to have no pressure, which will reduce the self-priming ability of the self-priming pump, causing no water outlet or slow water inlet. Regularly check the one-way valve to see if it is damaged. If it is, replace it in time.

  6. The pump chamber is empty before the water pump starts running. Because the centrifugal pump needs to be filled with water before running, if the pump is not filled with water, the pump will not be able to pump water, and it is very likely that the pump will be damaged due to long-term idling.
